Though not capable of planetfall, the Dayton-Yakutsk model 370 certainly looks like it could be. It was built to minimize gas-friction in order to be capable of scooping operations, so the ship could refuel from the upper-atmosphere of gas giants. It was incredibly succesful in the civilian market. Many scientific, private, religious, and even criminal organizations use the DY-370 for a variety of jobs. |
